Scotland take a 10-8 lead over SA into halftime. Scotland opened the scoring with a penalty after 17 minutes, but missed a second attempt shortly after. SA leveled matters with a penalty after 23 minutes and ran in the game's first try five minutes later to lead 8-3. Scotland crossed for their first try five minutes from the break, but would have to settle for just a two point lead at halftime after missing a penalty attempt with the final play of the half.
