France take a 19-10 lead over Scotland into halftime. France missed an early penalty but opened the scoring with a try just seven minutes in to lead 7-0. Scotland pulled three points back with a penalty, but a second French try followed to make it 12-3. Scotland hit back with a try approaching the half hour mark to reduce the deficit to just two points. However, France would have the final say of the half, as they ran in try number three with the final play for a nine point advantage at the break.
