Racing take a 10-8 lead over La Rochelle into halftime. Racing opened the scoring with a penalty after just two minutes. La Rochelle had a chance to draw level, but their penalty attempt after 11 minutes went wide. Racing ran in the first try of the match after 26 minutes to open up a 10-0 lead. La Rochelle got on the board with a penalty shortly after. La Rochelle piled on the pressure in the closing minutes of the half and were rewarded with a try with the final play to trail by just two points at the break.
