New Zealand take a 29-6 lead over Fiji into halftime. Fiji opened the scoring with a penalty four minutes in, but NZ hit back ten minutes later with the games first try to lead 7-3. Fiji then reduced the deficit to a single point with a second penalty. A NZ penalty around the half hour mark was followed by a quick try to make it 17-6. The All Blacks would finish the half in dominant fashion, running in a further two tries in the final five minutes, with Fiji also picking up a yellow card just before the break.
