The Reds take a 24-14 lead over the Rebels into halftime. The Reds got of to the perfect start, with two early tries putting them 14-0 up after only 5 minutes of play. The Reds added a penalty before crossing for try number three to lead emphatically 24-0 inside the opening 20 minutes. The Rebels got on the board with a try around the half hour mark and five minutes later they had their second to get back into the match at the break, trailing by ten points.
