Leinster take a 12-7 lead over La Rochelle into halftime. Two early penalties saw Leinster into a 6-0 lead, but La Rochelle hit back with the game's opening try to edge ahead 7-6 after eleven minutes of play. Leinster got their noses in front again with a penalty after 22 minutes and added a fourth successful shot at goal with the final play of the half for a five point advantage at the break.
