Cheetahs have a strong contender for blooper reels for years to come after a mix-up at line-out time sees Springbok Adriaan Strauss throw short to where his intended target forgot to move to. Strauss looked more than a little embarrassed and frustrated but most importantly the mistake gives the Bulls one more chance before half-time.

Yellow card is issued to Bull's scrum-half Rudy Paige after players from both sides get involved in a confrontation following the awarding of a penalty. This will make it difficult for the Bulls to make any inroads before half-time.

Jurgen Visser makes the first big break of the game for the Blue Bulls but once again they manage to lose the ball close to the opposition line. Still 10-0 to the Cheetahs and as it stands they are in a comfortable position to go through.
1 penalty out of 3 and 2 kicks out of 4. Elgar needs to get a move on if he is to improve his kicking rate.

Bulls have their third line-out deep in the Cheetahs 22 but each time a mistake causes them to lose possession. Frustration is sure to mount if they don't manage to get a score soon.

Bulls are now enjoying some possession and territory. Unsurprisingly they turn down shots at goal and opt instead for the corner as they go in search of the 4 tries they require to progress.

PENALTY CHEETAHS. Bulls struggling early on to get any foothold in the game and concede a penalty for being offside after defending their line for a number of phases. Watts kicks the easy 3 points. 10-0 now to the Cheetahs.

TRY FREE STATE CHEETAHS! Fresh off the back of missing two penalties in as many minutes, Elgar Watts shows what he can do with ball in hand as he spots a gap in the Bulls defence, throws a dummy and breaks through before feeding the supporting Robert Ebersohn for the centre to run in under the posts. No problems for Watts with the conversion. 7-0 the score.

First chance of the game falls to the Cheetahs as they earn a penalty after 12 phases of play. Elgar Watts will be disappointed not to have scored from a relatively central position, 40 metres from goal. There is a cross wind however which will affect the kickers. Misses on the right.

The visiting Bulls side kick us off through Handre Pollard and we are underway.
