New Zealand take a 16-8 lead over Australia into halftime. The All Blacks kept the scoreboard ticking over, slotting three penalties to open up a 9-0 lead. The Wallabies got on the board with a penalty around the half hour mark and crossed for the game's first try after 36 minutes to reduce the deficit to a single point. However, the All Blacks would have the final say of the half, with a try with the final play giving them an eight point advantage at the break.
