Munster take a 27-14 lead over Cardiff into halftime. The sides each ran in an early try before a second for Cardiff just 12 minutes in saw them up 14-7. Munster pulled three points back with a penalty before they went over for their second try after 26 minutes to hit the front 17-14. Munster kept the scoreboard ticking over with another penalty and scored a third try on the stroke of halftime for a 13 point advantage at the break.
