France take a 19-7 lead over Ireland into halftime. France got off to the perfect start with a try just a minute in and added penalty five minute later to open up a 10-0 lead. Ireland hit back immediately with a try from the restart to reduce the deficit to 10-7. France managed to keep the scoreboard ticking over, slotting a further three penalties to take a 12 point advantage into the break.
