Eng take a 17-12 lead over SA into halftime. Eng got off to a superb start, with an early try making it 7-0. SA pulled three points back with a penalty, but Eng responded with a second try to make it 14-3. The sides then traded penalties before the Springboks kept the scoreboard ticking over, slotting a further two shots at goal to trail by five points at the break.
