Montpellier take a 16-10 lead over Bath into halftime. Bath started strongly with a try just 3 minutes in to lead 7-0. Montpellier got on the board with a penalty around the midpoint of the half and scored a try shortly after to hit the front 10-7. Bath leveled matter at ten apiece with a penalty a few minutes later, but Montpellier kept the scoreboard ticking over, slotting a further two penalties for a six point advantage at the break.
