- 1840

Four international players were stand out performers in a scintillating game to open the Super Rugby fixtures for the day.
Brodie Retallick:
The big man was missed last week for the home side when the played the Sharks but he was a standout today as he made 8 tackles and 3 valuable turnovers in his sides 39-27 win over the Waratahs
Charlie Ngatai:
Ngatai returned to the 12 jumper and had by far his best game of the season as he ran for 114m with ball in hand leavig 6 defenders iin his wake. The Chiefs captain was instrumental in leading from the front and keeping his side together under plenty of Waratah pressure.
Michael Hooper:
The Waratahs Captain was his usual industrious self as he lead his sides tackle stats with no misses in his 13 attempts. A thorn in the side for the Chiefs
Kurtley Beale:
Beale was superb with decision making, kicking from hand and providing the Waratahs with the much needed playmaking spark they have become dependent on in the 12 jumper. A high work rate that saw him make more than one try saving tackle to keep his side in the game
