The Crusaders are excited to announce that Noah Hotham has extended his contract with the team until 2027.
The 21-year-old halfback has been a crucial part of the Crusaders' lineup. Hotham, a product of Hamilton Boys High, initially signed a three-year deal with the Crusaders, which was set to take him through to 2025.
However, his consistent performances in the red and black have earned him an early extension.
“It's really exciting to know I'll be here for another two years,” Hotham says.
“I came down to Christchurch with the opportunity given to me by Scott Robertson and Scott Hansen, I've taken that with two hands and now Christchurch is my new home. I've been loving it, and I'm really excited for the future.”
Hotham, who also plays for Tasman Mako, was named in their squad in 2021 as a development player and made his NPC debut against Waikato in Hamilton.
Known for his explosive play and ability to control the game, Hotham has quickly become a fan favorite.
“To me, putting on the red and black jersey means trying to be the best version of myself and adding to the proud history and legacy that the Crusaders have already,” he added.
“When I came in three years ago, I just wanted to learn heaps from all the knowledge that's in here, the experienced people, all the 150 gamers, the coaches.”
Hotham is still wanting to soak up everything this environment has to offer.
"I'm so grateful to sign on for longer and make this my home and my future,” he said
“The environment here is all based off care. You work hard at training, in the gym and on the field because you care about our legacy, you care about the boy next to you, you care about the front office and just wanting to do your best because you care for the club.”
Crusaders Head Coach Rob Penney praised Hotham's work ethic and potential.
“Noah is a remarkable athlete with an incredible desire to develop. His commitment to the game and his teammates is outstanding. We’re thrilled to have him with us for the next few years.”
As the Crusaders focus on the season ahead, fans can look forward to seeing more of Hotham's dynamic performances and leadership on the field.
