Bordeaux and Racing 92 head into halftime deadlocked at 9-9. Racing opened the scoring with an early penalty, but shortly after Bordeaux were level. A Racing drop goal saw them in front, but two Bordeaux penalties followed in quick succession to see the hosts up 9-6. Racing evened things up again with a penalty after 25 minutes. With 5 minutes of the half remaining, Bordeaux picked up a yellow card, but the resulting Racing penalty attempt went wide to see the scores level at the break.
