A back and forth first half as Canada dominanted the opening minutes but weren't able to make their pressure count. A brilliant attack Spain saw Rouet score for the home side and Contardi went over soon after to give Spain a 17-3 lead. Canada fought back scoring two tries through Paris and DTH van der Merwe to go into the break all square
