The Rebels head into their first Australian derby having lost all 3 of their opening matches against the Blues, Hurricanes and Chiefs. The Waratahs have made a slightly better start to their 2017 Super Rugby campaign beating the Western Force in their first match, however they have lost their last 3 matches against the Brumbies, Sharks and Lions.
