Bordeaux take a slender 15-14 lead over the Bristol Bears into halftime. Bristol ran in the only try of the half just six minutes in to lead 5-0. The battle of the boot dominated the remainder of the half as the sides alternated three penalties apiece to see Bristol up 14-9 after 26 minutes of play. Bordeaux would however keep the scoreboard ticking over, slotting a further two late penalties to hold a one point advantage at the break.
