The Lions take a 20-19 lead over the Bulls into halftime. The Lions opened the scoring with a try five minutes in, but the Bulls levelled matters with a score ten minutes later. A penalty put the Lions ahead midway through the half, but the Bulls went over for try number two to lead 12-10. The Lions hit back with a try to regain the lead, but the Bulls responded shortly after with a third score to lead 19-17. The Lions slotted a long range penalty with the final play of the half to edge in front at the break.
