The Jaguares host the Lions in the opening round of Super Rugby. The Jaguares finished second in the South African Conference last season, making the play-offs but going down to the Lions in the quarter-finals. The Lions topped the Conference but were beaten for a third straight year in the Super Rugby Final. The Lions have struggled away to the Jaguares since they joined the competition, setting this up for a cracking encounter.
