The Exeter Chiefs take a commanding 31-3 lead over the Newcastle Falcons into halftime. Exeter got off to the perfect start with a try just two minutes in, with the Falcons pulling three points back with a penalty five minutes later. Exeter crossed for a second try midway through the half to lead 12-3. Newcastle then picked up a yellow card and Exeter capitalized on their numerical advantage with two quick scores. Exeter added a fifth try in the final minute of the half for an emphatic advantage at the break.
