Born in Edgware, England, Spurling plies his trade as an industrious hooker and has turned out for England at several underage levels. Having joined the Saracens academy after graduating secondary school, Spurling signed a two year professional contract with the club and has been dual registered with Saracens and the Bedford Blues.
