A former South African Schools player in 2008, Lehmann has played Western Province U18, U19, U21, Vodacom Cup and went on to make his Currie Cup for Western Province in 2012. A hard as nails flanker, Helmut was also named in a South African Universities team that played against Namibia in 2013.
