Angus Bell, born on October 4, 2000, is an Australian rugby union player who currently represents the NSW Waratahs in Super Rugby as a prop. Carrying on the family legacy, Angus is the son of former Wallabies Hooker and Queensland Reds Forwards Coach, Mark Bell.
Coming from Saint Ignatius College, Bell's rugby talent quickly became evident as he captained the Australian Schools & U18s team in 2018.
His exceptional performances during the team's northern hemisphere tour caught the attention of the NSW Waratahs, earning him a contract as a development player.
Renowned for his versatility in playing both sides of the front row, Bell's skills and potential made him a highly sought-after prop in Australian rugby. Straight out of school, he made his NSW Country Eagles debut in 2019, showcasing his abilities at a professional level.
In May 2019, Bell received further recognition when he was named in the Australia U20s squad for the World Rugby U20s Championship. He played a pivotal role in helping the team reach the final of the tournament.
Bell's progression continued as he made his Super Rugby debut in 2020, representing the Waratahs against the Rebels. His performances during the Super Rugby AU competition impressed selectors, leading to a call-up to Dave Rennie's first Wallaby squad.
On November 7, 2020, Angus Bell made his debut for the Wallabies as he came on as an injury replacement for James Slipper during a test match against the New Zealand All Blacks in Brisbane.
With his promising talent, versatility, and strong family rugby heritage, Angus Bell is poised to have a bright future in Australian rugby and contribute to the success of both the Waratahs and the Wallabies.
Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Bell has been named in the training squad for Australia.
