Gianmarco Lucchesi, born on September 10, 2000, is an Italian professional rugby union player who primarily plays as a hooker for Benetton in the United Rugby Championship.
Lucchesi began his professional career playing for clubs such as Gran Ducato. Initially, he was named as a Permit Player for the latter part of the 2019-20 Pro14 season and the 2020-21 Pro14 season. However, he quickly established himself as a full-time player in the Benetton squad.
In January 2020, Lucchesi was selected for the Italy Under 20 squad to compete in the 2020 Six Nations Under 20s Championship. His performance and potential led to his inclusion in the Italy national squad from October 2020. He made his test debut against Ireland during the 2020 Six Nations Championship, representing Italy at the senior level.
As a young and promising hooker, Lucchesi has shown his dedication and skills in the professional rugby arena. His development and involvement with both the Italy Under 20 and senior national teams highlight his potential for a successful career in the sport.
