Son of Offaly hurling legend Daithi, Jack Regan started playing rugby underage at Birr RFC in Co. Offaly and was part of the Leinster under-age set up.
Regan captained Leinster U18s and was a member of Ireland U20s Six Nations and Junior World Cup squad in 2017.
Regan made his senior competitive debut for Ulster in their 54–42 defeat against Leinster in the 2018–19 Pro14 on 20 December 2019. Regan came on as a replacement in this match.
In March 2020 Regan was released by Ulster and moved to New Zealand where he joined the Dunedin Sharks, who participate in the third tier of New Zealand competition.
Subsequently, the high quality of Regan's performances earned him a call-up for regional side Otago with whom he featured in last year's Mitre-10. He made his debut in Round 1 of the 2020 season against Auckland at Forsyth Barr Stadium.
His meteoric rise in Southern Hemisphere rugby took a further upward curve in October 202 0when he was drafted in as an injury-cover player on a four-month contract for Super Rugby side Highlanders.
He made his Super Rugby debut in round one of Super Rugby Aotearoa 2021 against the Crusaders
In May 2021, Regan signed a deal with the Ospreys which will see him leave the Highlanders franchise in the Super Rugby Aotearoa in New Zealand to join the regional rugby franchise in Swansea.
