Trained in Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle in the Basque Country, Ximun Lucu joined the Biarritz's youth squad in 2006.
After three seasons in the senior academy squad, he signed a professional contract with Mont-de-Marsan in 2011. He helped the side gain promotion the Top 14 in his first season.
He played over 100 games for Mont-de-Marsan during his time with the club.
In the summer of 2016, he returned to Biarritz where he reunited with his brother Maxime.
He would go on to take his cap tally to over 100 for Biarritz before retiring at the end of the 2021/22 season.
