Zebre await the advance of Bayonne

Two teams who will be looking for significant improvement since last season’s campaign will be Zebre and Bayonne, who face off on Saturday afternoon at Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi.

There was not much for Zebre to write home about after the 2019-20 tournament, the Italian outfit finishing second-last in Pool 4 with a total of 13 points from 2 victories, 3 losses and a draw. In terms of their current form, they currently occupy last place in Conference A of the Pro14, having posted only a single victory from 8 fixtures.

Bayonne seem to be having a better time of things, earning themselves a ninth-spot position on the table with 5 victories to their name. Their most recent encounter saw them lose out to tournament giants Toulouse by only 4 points in Round 11 of the Top 14.

Once Bayonne settled in the second stanza they actually looked dangerous at times. If they can tap into that energy come Saturday they may be able to post a decent score against their Italian rivals.
