WRAP: Major League Rugby Round One

The second edition of Major League Rugby kicked off this past weekend and while the first round provided four tightly contested matches, we also welcomed new teams to the competition.
This year saw the tournament add the Toronto Arrows, Canada’s first pro rugby franchise, and Rugby United New York joined the fold.
Reigning champions Seattle Seawolves continued their momentum from last season as they picked up a win along with Rugby United, Houston Sabercats and NOLA Gold.

Top Points Scorer:
Former Ulster flyhalf Sam Windsor, who is now Houston Sabercats No. 10, is the competitions leading points scorer with 21 points (seven conversions). San Diego Legion fullback Joe Pietersen, former Stormers star, is second with 18 points, while Brock Staller from the Seawolves is third with 15.
Toronto Arrows winger Dan Moor is the tournaments leading try scorer with two tries.
