The Sharks recorded a hard-fought 24-14 victory over South African rivals the Stormers in their final Super Rugby match before the league's suspension after a fiery start at Kings Park.
And it was the Sharks who headed into the indefinite break top of the conference with a tense late win, although they might well have been comfortable had Johan du Toit been shown a red card after just 12 seconds. Full match report
Wright, Kata inspire rout in final Super Rugby game before hiatus
The Brumbies eased past Australian rivals the Waratahs 47-14 in the final game before the Super Rugby hiatus due to coronavirus.
The Brumbies and Waratahs managed to take to the field on Sunday, with the former cruising to victory at GIO Stadium in Canberra. Tom Wright and Solomone Kata scored two tries apiece to lead the Brumbies to their fourth consecutive victory over the Waratahs, whose slim finals chances were dealt a major blow. Full match report
Nigel Owens breaks down Tuilagi's red card and states it 'was never going to be legal'
England head coach Eddie Jones described the decision to send Manu Tuilagi off as “absolute rubbish” after the England centre's tackle on George North in England's victory in Cardiff.
He said: “I found the red card bizarre. I do not know how you are meant to make a tackle when a guy is falling after a chop tackle. Manu was coming over the top to kill the tackle. It’s absolute rubbish and there is no common sense in such situations. Come on.”
Tuilagi did not accept his tackle on George North warranted a red card, but his appeal was rejected and he has been suspended for four weeks. Read more

Scotland U20s fly-half Nathan Chamberlain struck a dazzling hat-trick in an incredible seven-try victory over Wales which fired the Scots up to second in the table.
Scotland achieved their biggest ever win over Wales at under-20 level and their first in Wales.
Later in the game Chamberlain put in an impressive solo try to secure a bonus point for Scotland. A neat chip a chase gave the stand-off the chance to score his second try of the match.
As the match headed towards the final ten minutes, Jack Blain evaded two defenders before passing to Chamberlain. The stand-off put in an incredible effort to score his third try and seal the hat-trick.
