Fatialofa spent a second night in hospital

Warriors lock Michael Fatialofa spent a second night in St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington where his condition continues to be assessed.

Fatialofa was taken from the pitch on a stretcher after he was injured in a collision shortly after he came on as a replacement in Saturday’s Premiership match against Saracens at Allianz Park.


Rhys Webb axed by Toulon


Wales and Ospreys bound scrumhalf Rhys Webb won't play Toulon again this season the new club owner Bernard Lemaitre has revealed.

Lemaitre hit out at the "dishonest" attitude surrounding the player's return home after he was granted an early release from the final year of his contract to return to Wales.

"His family is back in Wales, it's difficult for him. We made beach-sized amounts of time for him to be able to go back and see his family in Wales," Lemaitre told Sud Radio. Full story

Gloucester's Welsh flyer approached by Eddie Jones - reports

England Head Coach Eddie Jones is trying to tempt Wales under-18 winger Louis Rees-Zammit to play for England, according to the Rugby Paper.

The teenager has made a massive impact at Gloucester since making his Premiership debut becoming the youngest player to score a hattrick in the Premiership as he dotted down three times against Northampton Saint and broke Gloucester's record as the club's youngest Premiership player.

He has really produced for Gloucester scoring 5 tries and assisted another in 3 Premiership games for the Cherry and Whites while also scoring a try in the Champions Cup. Full story

Watch: Owen Farrell escapes punishment for another no armed tackle

Saracens bounced back from their defeat to Exeter Chiefs by claiming a massive 62-5 win over Worcester Warriors on Saturday at Allianz Park.

The reigning Premiership champions ran in 10 tries in their victory as they chip away at the 35 point deduction. 

However, one of the biggest talking points from the game was England captain Owen Farrell not getting his marching orders just before half-time with Saracens leading 24-0.

The Saracens' flyhalf dipped his shoulder into a tackle again and had his arm tucked again. The contact was referred to referee Craig Maxwell-Keys who ruled after viewing the TMO footage that Farrell had started low and risen up, giving rise to “mitigating circumstances”.

Paul Gustard labels Joe Marler's needless elbowing as 'absolutely ridiculous'

Harlequins coach Paul Gustard labelled Joe Marler's elbowing of Sale Sharks flank Jean-Luc du Preez as ‘absolutely ridiculous’ following their 48-10 defeat on Friday.

The incident took place early in the second half with Marler receiver a yellow card.




‘I’m sure Joe will look at himself, it’s absolutely ridiculous,’ Gustard said. ‘There’s no need for that.

‘There was plenty of off-the-ball stuff from Sale and we’ve got to rise above it but Joe was the protagonist and there’s just no place for that.

‘It cost us an important player for 10 minutes and put the team under pressure again.’ 

Max Deegan puts in a starring performance as Leinster smash Connacht


Max Deegan did his hopes of earning a test debut during the 2020 Six Nations no harm with a starring performance against Connacht as Leinster powered to their 10th straight victory this season in the PRO14.

The 23-year-old loose forward has been battling with Caelan Doris for the starting jersey at Leinster with both players attending Ireland's camp over December.

However, Deegan put his hand up high for selection with an outstanding performance in the Irish derby against Connacht.

Deegan's performance was far from just an attacking masterclass as he made all of his attempted 29 tackles. Full article



 Watch: Stockdale ends try drought for Ulster against Munster

Jacob Stockdale brought a year-long tryless drought for Ulster to an end on Friday as he scored his first try for the Province since last January with a 60-metre intercept.

The 23-year-old Ireland international snatched the ball from the arms of Sam Arnold and sped downfield to score his first try of the season as Ulster marched to an impressive 38-17 win over Munster.

Ulster next face Clermont in the Champions Cup.
