It did not take Josua Juisova long to settle in at Lyon as he put in a stellar performance on debut against La Rochelle this past weekend.
The Fijian made the switch from Toulon to La Rochelle at the end of the 2018/19 season and made his debut following the Rugby World Cup in Japan.
The 25-year-old's performance included two try assists, 99 running metres, 6 defenders beaten, 4 clean breaks and one offload.
His main highlight of the game was his try assist for scrumhalf Baptiste Couilloud, who grabbed a brace in the 45-17 win over La Rochelle. He rampaged over La Rochelle winger Marc Andreu before producing a pinpoint pass to his halfback to score.
Tuisova could have also scored his first try in the red of Lyon but he unselfishly handed the try to man the created the opportunity, Charlie Ngatai.
The opportunity came from a counter attack started by Noa Nakaitaci, who also had a barnstorming run into the La Rochelle 22, before the ball went out to Ngatai who opted to give Mathieu Bastareaud an opportunity to bash it up.
A few phases later Ngatai produced a pinpoint kick through for flanker Dylan Cretin, who was hovering out on the wing, the flanker managed to draw in two defenders and stay in touch before offloading to Tuisova who ended up handing the ball over to Ngatai over the line.
Lyon kick off their Champions Cup campaign against Northampton Saints on Sunday where Tuisova is likely to line up across from former Wallaby Taqele Naiyaravoro, which promises to be an epic head to head battle.
