Watch: Cheslin Kolbe's brilliance on defence against Clermont
- 4774
Cheslin Kolbe is known for his incredible pace and footwork on attack but the pocket rocket Springbok showed that there is far more to his game on Saturday.
With Toulouse attacking just outside the Clermont 22, Romain Ntamack looks to spread the ball wide with a long skip pass. However, Clermont speedster Peter Betham reads this perfectly to intercept.
The former Wallaby speeds into the Toulouse half but is brilliantly chased down by Kolbe. The South African did brilliantly to track him down and also got back to his feet to force the turnover.
His clearance was somewhat average but he already saved his team and the clearance bought his teammates enough time to track back and get into the defensive line.

Soon after this, Kolbe was forced from the field with what looked like a groin injury in the seventh minute.
While the signs did not look promising for the Toulouse outside back, he was able to return to the field later in the game after another injury to a fellow teammate.
He managed to play a further 20 minutes to see his side to a 36-27 win over Clermont.
The wins sees Toulouse in second place on the overall standings, level on points with La Rochelle, as they head into the final weekend of the regular season.
