WATCH: A Classic Try Assist From Former Springbok Prop Os du Randt
- 1618
Former Springbok prop Os du Randt is well known for his stellar work in the scrum and his destructive ball carrier that saw him win two Rugby World Cups for South Africa 12 years a part from one another.
A true legend of South African Rugby, Os helped the Springboks win the Rugby World Cup in 1995 and looked to have had his career cut short in 2000, at the age of 27, when he suffered injuries that kept him out of rugby for nearly three years.
However, a call in 2003 from no other than his former teammate and then Cheetahs head coach Rassie Erasmus. Erasmus convinced du Randt to return to the professional and a year later was recalled to the Springbok squad by Jake White.
He would go onto win the World Cup in France with the Springbok playing a pivotal role at loosehead.
In the clip below you will see just how explosive and talented Os was as he takes the ball in the air and runs through the Highlanders defence producing a fantastic offload to his teammate and long time friend Drotské.
