Wasps to become first UK sporting club to launch Retail Bond on London Stock Exchange

Wasps signalled their intent to bring the glory days back to the club when they announced that they are to become the first sporting club in the UK to launch a Retail Bond on the London Stock Exchange with a view to raising between £25 million and £35 million.

Wasps were the last English club to win the European Cup (2007) but fell from grace, almost going out of business three years ago.

The upturn in their fortunes came about with the arrival of the Irish businessman Derek Richardson and the purchase last October of Coventry’s Ricoh Arena.
