Wallabies announce big change to coaching staff

Wallaby defence coach Matt Taylor has taken the decision to step away from rugby for now citing a greater need for family time as the reason. 

Taylor, who joined the Wallaby set-up ahead of the 2020 season, has reportedly had a frank discussion with Head Coach Dave Rennie and the decision was duly reached. 

"Matt is a great man with a strong work ethic, who is well respected within the Wallabies environment and we will miss him,” Rennie said. 

Taylor, himself had the following to say: 

“While this was an extremely difficult decision, I know it’s the right one for me and my family at this point in time. 

“I’m looking forward to spending more time with them and look forward to getting back into coaching when the time is right.”
