The Welsh senior men crashed to their third successive Six Nations defeat on Saturday when they went down 33-30 to the English on Saturday.
The men in red initiated the possibility of a massive comeback in the final quarter when they clawed their way to their final tally from just 16 points.
The game will be remembered for an outrageous interaction between Welsh captain Alun Wyn Jones and English loosehead Joe Marler, the latter appearing to rab the former by the genitals.
"It shows what we can do with those two tries," said Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones, referring to late tries by Dan Biggar and Justin Tipuric.
"It was too little too late in the end. However you want to play, ultimately if you don't win it doesn't matter. That is where we find ourselves today."
Under 20s
Wales U20 came away with an impressive 1-point victory against the English on the weekend. Wales struck first through Bradley Roderick finishing off some fine attacking form by fly-half Sam Costelow, who scored the side's second try himself, converting both.
The teams went into the shed with the score at 14-5.
England commenced the second half with determination as fly-half George Barton dotted down an unconverted try which was negated somewhat by a Sam Costelow penalty immediately afterwards.
Wales added two more penalty kicks before full-time with the English adding a converted try to bring them close to their opponents.
Jac Morgan, Ioan Davies, Morgan Strong, Theo Bavacqua and Sam Costelow were at the heart of a supreme Welsh effort.
Full time: England 22-23 Wales
Senior Women
The Welsh women were heavily defeated on Saturday by an English outfit which displayed superior skill across the board. The final whistle sounded with the score at 66-7, Wales' only points coming from a penalty try.
Welsh captain Siwan Lillicrap said: “We have got to look at the positives of what we displayed. England are an outstanding side and they showed that, but there was definitely some really good stuff from us as well. England away is always a tough task. We did pressure them at times.
“We’re at the beginning of a building stage, we’ve got lots of youngsters in the squad, and we’ve got to stick with it, keep developing, and keep learning.
“We want to play the best sides in the world and we’ll learn more from that than anything else.”
