The British and Irish Lions wrapped up their preparations for the test series against the Springboks with a 49-3 win over the Stormers. The opening quarter was a tight affair, with Tim Swiel kicking the Stormers in front with a penalty midway through the first half. The Lions hit back with Adam Beard running a great line for the game's first try to put the Lions up 7-3 around the half hour mark. A second Lions score followed shortly after, Luke Cowan-Dickie peeling off a maul to burst over making it 14-3. The Lions had try number three with the final play of the first half, quick hands from Beard and Stuart Hogg sending Jonny Hill over in the corner, 21-3 at the break. Jack Conan sprinted in for the fourth ten minutes into the second half after a good inside ball from Marcus Smith allowed Elliot Daly to break the line. The Lions upped the tempo in the final quarter, running in a further three tries in the final 15 minutes. The first saw Zander Fagerson muscle over from close range, the second a length of the field score after a superb Smith break to unleash the flyer Rees-Zammit and the last rounded off by Sam Simmonds after some great offloads. Warm up matches concluded and it's on to what promises to be an epic test series.
