Ugo Monye slams Bath for 'disgraceful' performance against Gloucester

Ugo Monye has pulled no punches in his assessment of Bath’s performance against Gloucester.

The former British and Irish Lions' back labelled Bath's display as pathetic while commentating for BT Sport.

Bath were thrashed 64-0 by their West Country rivals Gloucester, with Ugo Monye saying that the performance was so poor that it was disrespectful to their rivalry with Gloucester.

“It was disgraceful, what we saw today,” Monye said.

“We’ve covered a lot of Premiership matches over the years and I’m struggling to think of the last time I saw such an apathetic, non-committal performance to such a big game.

“To be nilled, and that can happen with the quality of players that [Gloucester] have, but the fundamentals… This is a West Country derby and it didn’t look like it. I thought it was actually disrespectful to the occasion.

“A lot of questions need to be answered, that’s for sure, from a Bath perspective.”
