Wales u20 cruised to a 34-17 win over Italy u20 to wrap up 7th position at the World Rugby Under 20 Championship. Wales opened the scoring with an early penalty and crossed for three first-half tries to one to take a comfortable 24-7 lead into the break. Italy would start the second half with 13 players after picking up two yellow cards towards the end of the first half. Italy's woes were compounded with a third yellow card early in the second half. Wales extended the lead to 27-7 with a penalty with just under a quarter to play. Italy hit back with a try soon after to give themselves a chance at 27-12. Wales's response was immediate with a try all but wrapping up the match, with Italy running in a late consolations score.
