Top 5 performers of the night

Busy night of Aviva Premiership and PRO 12 action, here are our top 5 performers of the night

John Muldoon – Connacht

The veteran number 8 was the stand out performer in Connacht’s victory over Cardiff tonight. He was a menace at the breakdown throughout, getting in over the ball time and time again to secure countless turnovers for his side. He was a rock in defence putting in some key last stitch tackles at crucial times of the game. He displayed some beautiful footwork to control the ball at the base of the scrum which set up John Cooney for the first try of the game. His incredible efforts were enough to earn him the man of the match award.

Will Boyde – Scarlets

The young number 8 was incredible tonight in his sides well-earned victory over Leinster. He showed good pace and great handling skills to cap off a fantastic team move with a bonus point earning try in the corner. His tackling was superb, as was his ball carrying as he constantly knocked the Leinster tacklers back beyond the gain line. He was thoroughly deserving of the man pf the match accolade in this PRO12 clash.

Joel Hodgson - Newcastle Falcons

The young Newcastle out-half was outstanding tonight in his side’s Aviva Premiership clash with Northampton Saints He scored the first try of the game after just 4 minutes of play following some incredible work by Goneva. He missed that conversion but was successful with all his other attempts from the tee recording a 75% success rate. He managed the game expertly and showed rugby intelligence and knowledge of the game far beyond his years. At the tender age of 24 years old he looks a real prospect for English rugby going forward.

Olly Cracknell - Ospreys

The young flanker had a sensational game against Glasgow this evening which earned him the man of the match award. Cracknell completed a fantastic back row performance from the Ospreys who managed to come away with 5 points tonight. Cracknell had a number of big carries which helped set the attacking platform for Ospreys. Cracknell showed his diversity covering a huge amount of ground and popping up for some big hits, immense display form the number 6

D'Angelo Leuila - Samoa

The Samoan 19 year old proved he is well up to international standard by scoring 7/7 kicks which included five penalties. Leuila scored 20 points in a 25-23 win over Canada. Despite the lack of tries Leuila was an attacking threat and looked dangerous with ball in hand. No doubt we'll be hearing more of this name in the future.
