Top 3 performers - Wales vs England
Dan Biggar

Dan Biggar was the stand out performer in a very impressive Welsh effort in their Six Nations clash with England. His kicking was fantastic as time and time again he piled the pressure on the English back three with massive up and unders. He managed the game very well, knowing when to spin the ball to his outside backs and when to peg the english back with excellent territory kicks. On two separate occasion Biggar looked like he was going to bag himself a vital try but on both occasions he was beaten for pace by Daly and Nowell. Despite the result Biggar and the rest of the Welsh outfit can be immensely proud of their efforts today.

Also worthy of a mention are Rhys Webb and Ross Moriarty. Webb made several incisive breaks and caused England a host of issues with his speed of feet and thought around the fringes. Moriarty was a brick wall in defence making several huge tackles and being a constant menace at the breakdown.

Joe Launchbury

The gargantuan second row was MOTM today and really deserved the award. Immaculate in the lineout and a workhorse all day in defence the second row managed to take almost half of England’s 9 successful throws in the lineout and make a massive 20 tackles in defence. He also was keen to carry in the loose and wasn’t driven back easily by the Welsh defence like so many of his teammates as he made 18m in total. The Wasps lock will surely be a shoe in for a place on the Lions tour after his performance today, in a match that I’m sure Warren Gatland was watching intensely.

Eliot Daly

Another Wasps man who was absolutely outstanding today and really justified his selection on the wing by Eddie Jones. He showed great pace to score the game winning try when he beat Alex Cuthbert on the outside to score in the corner. Not only that but he prevented a certain try by getting back to clear Dan Biggar’s kick to touch with a slide tackle that Paul Scholes would be proud of. The number eleven was a threat out wide throughout the game and also defended his wing superbly. The threat of Cuthbert was pretty much nullified throughout the game by the young Englishman.
