- 1629
What a first half as these two teams went toe-to-toe in an intense battle. Rory Kockett was the standout in the first half for the home-side with his 4 penalties in quick succession. An early try form Timoci Nagusa put the visitors on the front foot. Later Caleb Timu also crossed the try line. Montpellier always looking more likely to score tries as they regularly crossed over the gain-line. Discipline being a major issue for Montpellier as Du Plessis and Haouas spent some time in the sin-bin. It was ultimately the discipline in the end of the game that cost Montpellier dearly. A late try from Ngandebe in the 80th min gifted Cruden the opportunity to kick for the win. His kick was unsuccessful. Castres were outscored 3 tries to 1, but the penalties kept racking up against the visitors.
