Leicester Tigers can confirm Tom Hudson will depart the club in the summer after two seasons as part of the women’s coaching team.
Hudson was the Senior Coach during the club’s debut campaign as part Premiership Women’s Rugby before being promoted to Head Coach ahead of the current season.
Before joining the programme in the summer of 2023, Hudson was Head Coach of Championship club Ampthill Rugby and Lead Coach at Cheltenham Tigers.
On the announcement, Leicester Tigers General Manager Richard Wilks said: “Tom has been a brilliant leader during our first two seasons as part of PWR and worked tirelessly to ensure the development of his players, each and every day, in a highly competitive league.”
“While there is much more to be said about Tom and the work he has done, the foundations he has built for the future and the thanks he is owed; the time for those and farewells is at the end of the season. For now, as I know Tom wants, the focus is on finishing the season as strongly as possible.”
“We have made this announcement now to ensure it isn’t circulated as rumour and to provide clarity for our playing group approaching the conclusion of their season, while also being up front with Leicester Tigers supporters.”
Assistant Coach Luke Stratford will also depart at the conclusion of the current campaign. Stratford joined Tigers with Hudson ahead of the club’s debut PWR campaign after stints as part of coaching teams with Longlevens RFC, Hartpury University and Cirencester RFC.
The club has commenced the recruitment process for the lead role within the women’s programme for next season and beyond.
