A cracking clash is set for the AJ Bell as the log-leading Leicester Tigers travel to meet Sale Sharks in battle. Despite Leicester’s prowess in the competition thus far, Sale will not lie down on their home turf, rendering this a potential humdinger of a match.
Due to Covid, the Tigers were awarded a 28-0 victory over Bordeaux in the latest round of the Champions Cup while Sale thumped Ospreys 49-10.
In the Premiership, Tigers stumbled against Wasps in Round 13:
The previous round was also not a good one for Sale who were battered by Bristol at Ashton Gate:
Leicester boss Steve Borthwick said;
“Sale are a very dangerous side, who are capable of causing problems for their opposition with the phased attack and offloading ability they have at their disposal with the ball-in-hand style they implement.
“They have experienced, word class players throughout their squad, of which they have invested heavily in over a number of seasons now.
“This is a club who have spent successive years at the top of the Premiership together and are settled in the style Alex Sanderson and his fellow coaches want them to play, which we know will be a big challenge for us on Sunday afternoon away from home.”
