World announces immediate law amendment following contentious Wales try
World Rugby has changed a rule governing restarts in the wake of George North’s contentious try for Wales in their 13-6 win over England in Cardiff on Saturday.
The change stipulates that a match can not be restarted, once it has been paused to allow for a player to leave the field due to an HIA or a blood bin, until that player has been replaced.
Four Super Rugby stars made available to the All Black sevens
The All Blacks Sevens’ quest for Olympic gold in Tokyo next year has been given a major boost, with four Super Rugby players set to join the 2019/2020 campaign.
Caleb Clarke (Blues, Auckland), Etene Nanai-Seturo (Chiefs, Counties Manukau), Salesi Rayasi (Hurricanes, Auckland) and Scott Gregory (Highlanders, Northland) will shift into the 2019/2020 All Blacks Sevens campaign with their sights focussed on the Tokyo Olympic Games, New Zealand Rugby announced today.
Ben Te'o Completes Top 14 Switch
England centre Ben Te'o has signed a short-term deal with RC Toulon and will provide the TOP 14 club with cover during the Rugby World Cup.
He makes the move from Worcester Warriors and will arrive at the club on Thursday where he will do the necessary medical tests.
Halfback duo sign with the Hurricanes
The Hurricanes have signed halfbacks Jamie Booth and Jonathan Taumateine for the next two Investec Super Rugby seasons.
The pair replace Richard Judd and Finlay Christie, with the former leaving the Hurricanes to take up a contract in Japan while the latter signed for the Blues.
RFU announces three-year plan for Premier 15s
The Rugby Football Union (RFU) has today confirmed the process for finalising the next three-year structure of the Tyrrells Premier 15s – the top-flight women’s domestic rugby competition in England.
In the first half of the upcoming season (2019/20) the RFU will audit all ten existing Tyrrells Premier 15s clubs on a combination of their ability to deliver the Minimum Operating Standards and their on pitch performance.
