Three-week ban for Coombs

16 September 2014Coombs was reported following the incident with his Test squad colleague and fellow lock Alun-Wyn Jones during last Friday's Guinness PRO12 game between Newport Gwent Dragons and the Ospreys at Rodney Parade.

Coombs appeared before an independent three-man PRO12 disciplinary committee in Dublin on Tuesday, league organisers announced.

The panel viewed footage and heard representations made by, and on behalf of, Coombs.

In upholding the citing, they decided his offence warranted a mid-range entry point of five weeks under International Rugby Board sanctions.…
