The Boks beat the All Blacks at their own game

The Springboks recorded their first win over New Zealand in the land of the long white cloud for the first time since 2009, giving the All Blacks a taste of their own medicine at the same time.
The All Blacks have become renowned for a number of things over the past few years but have been extremely good at scoring points just before halftime and right after the break.
The Springboks were able to break this trend today despite Rieko Ioane scoring a try in the 38th minute. The Boks won a penalty after that try, which Handre Pollard slotted from the tee.
After the break, Cheslin Kolbe picked off a loose pass to score his first test try. That gave the Springboks a 14 lead after 50 minutes of action and a lead good enough to survive the All Blacks late onslaught.

The Springbok bench also made a massive impact on the match, much like a classic All Black win, with Cheslin Kolbe sparking a number of attacks, while also defending well.
The forwards on the bench came on and collectively made 39 tackles while Elton Jantjies combined brilliantly with Handre Pollard and even threw a great pass in the build up to Dyantyi's second try.
