Suspensions dished out to Slater and du Preez
- 2512
Two suspensions have been handed out following Sale Sharks and Gloucester's Premiership clash last weekend.
Dan du Preez (3 weeks) and Ed Slater (4 weeks) have both been suspended after they were both cited for incidents in Sale's narrow 19-22 victory at Kingsholm.
Both players appeared before an online independent disciplinary panel last night (6 January 2021).
Du Preez was cited by following the match between Gloucester Rugby and Sale Sharks on Saturday 2 January 2021 for striking with shoulder, contrary to World Rugby Law 9.12 or in the alternate reckless or dangerous play, contrary to World Rugby Law 9.11.
Most officials have an understandable desire to mitigate reckless player behaviour, but this attitude has to change if rugby wants to keep existing.

- Gallagher Premiership: Sale Sharks v Worcester Warriors, Friday 8 January
