A sensational game in Napier as the Hurricanes secured a brilliant come from behind victory over the Sharks, the home side scored 10 points in the closing stages of the match with Ihaia West converting a penalty and a crucial conversion following Vince Aso's try.
The Sharks were the first side on the board through Robert du Preez's accurate boot but it was the home side that got the first try of the game from a brilliant set-piece move that saw Jordie Barrett dot down.
Ngani Laumape then stretched the lead to 9 points before the Sharks hit back with tries by Lukhanyo Am and Louis Schreuder. The Canes looked as if they would head into halftime in the lead when Vince Aso raced away for a sensational try but Lukhanyo Am scored his second try of the match which saw the Sharks lead 27-19 at halftime.
Tyler Paul scored in the 74th minute to give the Sharks a 28-37 lead in the final stages of the match but the Canes fought back to secure an outstanding win which means they have now won 5 games in a row.
